Erdenheim Full Mouth Restoration

For Total Smile Rejuvenation

Full Mouth Restoration (FMR) is recommended to restore the health, function, appearance and comfort of dentition that has completely broken down. This is usually the result of malocclusion (a poorly aligned bite). When your bite is out of alignment, your teeth don’t meet properly when biting or chewing. The result can be worn, broken, even missing teeth. This is can lead to TMJ dysfunction.

Full Mouth Restorations are unique to the individual patient. Our doctors will determine which procedures will best resolve your needs.

If you have TMJ dysfunction, our doctors will address that problem first, returning your jaw to its optimal position. The process begins by digitally mapping your bite using Tekscan’s T-Scan technology.

To treat TMJ problems, our doctors use splint therapy. The splints are custom made to perfectly fit your mouth and dentition. They are designed to allow all your teeth to touch at the same time, so that biting and clenching forces are evenly distributed to the splint.

Some splints are placed over the front teeth to gently reposition the jaw muscles, joint and teeth to their optimal position so they work together without any strain or pain.

Other splints are placed over the lower teeth and are worn at night to protect teeth from grinding.

If the splint relieves your symptoms, our doctors may restore or reshape your teeth so your upper and lower jaw can meet in a comfortable position. They may also raise or lower areas of your bite by applying crowns, onlays, veneers or other restorations to achieve an optimal jaw position.

Depending upon the condition of your mouth, treatment plan may involve the use of:

  • Crowns
  • Bridges
  • Porcelain Veneers
  • Dental Implants
  • Tooth-Colored Fillings or Onlays
  • Smile Whitening
  • Bonding

Hi, I’ve referred many people to you, including my immediate family. I have had many procedures done extremely well by Dr. Rothwell and find Laurie a really wonderful dental hygienist. Thanks for all that you do!
